Historical - Shipyard Workers in West Hartlepool
« on: May 25, 2004, 21:21 »
My grandfather was a riveter in a shipyard in West Hartlepool around 1910.  He and his nephew always told the family that they had worked on the construction of theTitanic in Ireland.  Since they immigrated to the United States in 1911,  I surmise that they must have only worked on laying the keel and the hull.  I am interested in finding any information that would support the use of Hartlepool men on the White Star ships built in Ireland.
