Filthy taxis in Aycliffe
« on: May 14, 2004, 08:56 »
Today was a rare occasion that I had to get the bus to Aycliffe to go to work. I then have to get a taxi to the place I work on the Industrial Estate. Everytime I have to do this, i'm never surprised at how dirty and grubby those taxis are.

Some taxi drivers in Aycliffe seem to be the dirtiest, scummiest bunch. They always seem to smoke 60 a day inside their cabs, everywhere is covered in fag ash and after a short journey I come out coughing my lungs up from the stink.

And another thing. Personal Hygeine.    Enough said.

SAFC1BeerMonster ? Why are some taxi drivers such scum-buckets  :?:

Lol, Boss I don't know mate.  I suppose its like that in every job, you get scum everywhere you go.  My Boss works his butt off all day trying to keep his company clean and tidy and the vehicles respectable, he just hopes his employees do their little bit but more often than not they don't.

Me myself I do my job, get paid and come home.  Thats enough for me, never really associate with other taxi drivers, well not out of town anyway.

And erm, I dont smoke and there is nothing worse than going to work and jumping in a taxi that has just been used by an employee that smokes.  FFS the steering wheel is covered in nicotine, my hands get covered, I can't eat my food at break time etc. etc...............damn I hate that.

Took a taxi from Aycliffe to Micky Moor tonight, and I have to say it was spotless and fresh. Furthermore, the driver knew where he was going (sort of), took great care to the highway code, and also supplied me with jokes.

So please don't tar all Aycliffe taxi drivers with the same brush.

Star Cabs.

Whixh one did you use bossman?

No, wasn't tarring all, that's why I said "Some taxi drivers in Aycliffe ...". It doesn't seem to be limited to one company, i've had poor taxis from all of the well known Aycliffe ones.

There's one driver who i seek out if i can, he's a scottish guy in his 60's I'd guess, who is always excellent and full of chat. Taxi is clean and he doesn't smoke. He operates from outside of Blakes on a morning. You might know who I mean.

Their is no excuse for any taxi company to have dirty vehicles. The Job centres full of people looking for work as a cleaner so why havent they checked and hired some Car Cleaners.

And yet some taxi drivers deliberatley speed up or are just plain ignorant in letting you cross. I orderded one taxi and the driver was plain rude.
