was watching the news the other night about the office workers complaining about the market stall holders making too much noise when selling their wares...they've been there for 800 years?

was funny as the north east news (6pm itv) were taking the mick out if the office workers - did anyone see it? :)

I saw it too Mr Cat, I think the reporters did a great job in taking the mickey.

Ludicrous story though really, that market traders cannot shout as office workers get a headache, there are more things in an office, like PCs, phones ringing, the copier going etc that give you a headache, than the odd call of a market trader selling their wares!

Its another one of these" Stop the church bells that I can hear. I know the church was there and has been for hundreds of years when I moved here but I didn`t expect to hear any noise from bells" syndrome.
Those traders have been shouting their wares since a markey was started and it adds to the character of the place.
Another eejit complaining about nowt.
Perhaps the office workers shouldn`t have been out on the drink the night before.

.... I've bought things from the Hexham fruit man and had some brilliant bargains at the end of the day- when he calls out his wares in traditional style....  It is laughable how many people move to rural Northumberland then complain about any kind of activity taking place there- bell ringing, tractors being driven, chickens being kept etc... Making a living is tough enough in the country without this sort of foolishness.  It's working place- not a theme park!
