Has anyone taken any photo's of the construction process of the new mining memorial at the Community Centre?
I think they would be of great interest for the future.

Yes.

From start to finish, every day.

There will be a dedication service for the pit wheel and tubs on Saturday 7th October.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Itinerary
9.00am.......Community Centre opens for Mining Exhibition
9.30am.......Musical Entertainment by Ferryhill Town Band

Introduction by Dr Drew on behalf of the RAOB, of the Vicar and Salvation Army Captain, who will be performing the Dedication Service at 10.00am.

10.30am....Names of the Thrislington Colliery Fatalities while Ferryhill Town Band plays "Gresford".

11.00am....Ferryhill Town Band continue playing in the Hall.
11.45am....Buffet.  Everyone is welcome.
2.00pm....Winners drawn for the School Quiz and Paintings.
3.00pm....Mining Exhibition will close until Sunday.

Mining Exhibition open from 10.00am - 2.00pm on Sunday 8th October.  There will also be a buffet and refreshments available, Everyone is welcome.

The project was funded by Bank Community Fund and Awards for All Lottery Funding and is the result of a lot of hard work by volunteers.

Yeah it was in the paper today, i got a copy my grandad was in along with his brother and someone else. Looks really well imo.
