New Life
« on: Oct 20, 2006, 22:48 »
Hi All, I have been down in Cheshire since the begining of September and have just started my new job and career as a Fire Safety Advocate with the Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service.
The job entails engaging with older and disabled people and advising them about fire and other safety issues, providing smoke detectors etc.
Things are going very well and Barb and I are very happy. I visit the site most days and also the Northern Echo site to keep updated on what is going on in the area (and to see who has died of course?)
Hope everyone is well

Yesterday, I had to help in organising selection tests for new firefighters and because I was working under a ladder I had to wear full protection equipment.
I am now applying for a transfer to Trumpton  :D

Hi Bazza.
Just listening to you talking about the Disabled and Fire, made me think of that scetch on 'The Office' where David Brent attempts to get the lass in the wheelchair down the stairs in the fire drill, but just gives up and leaves her between floors as it's too heavy!...hilarious :D

Glad you are settling in.

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead...Do not walk in front of me, for I may not Follow...Do not walk beside me...just f*ck off and leave me alone!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in, broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclai
