Phorm

Are you with an ISP using this scheme. Have you noticed any diference? Are you happy with your ISP collecting and using data this way? Will this be a reason for you to change ISPs.

I wrote to my ISP Plus Net now part of BT. They said "PlusNet PLC has no firm stance on Phorm at this time and we are unable to comment as to whether the company will or will not be using the system in future. Needless to say, if such a system was introduced we would notify those affected by email and updates to the portal."  I for one will be moving if they do introduce the system.

If you use firefox download and install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7536 and block phorm

Looks like BT have allready used it  http://wikileaks.org/wiki/British_Telecom_Phorm_PageSense_External_Validation_report

This does not work with FF 3.0.8

There is surely an update out?

Here is another take on "Phorm" from the EUObserver :  http://euobserver.com/9/27945/?rk=1

Begins : "The European Commission has threatened to take the UK to court over "structural" failures to guarantee internet users' privacy, in line with European law.

In a formal letter sent from Brussels to London on Tuesday (14 April), the commission gave UK authorities two months to respond to criticism of new web surveillance technology or face legal action at the Court of Justice in Luxembourg."
