The 10 safest jobs in a recession
« on: Apr 24, 2009, 09:00 »
People who have suffered the trauma of being made redundant are not usually in any hurry to repeat the experience. So, in times of recession such as these, it makes sense to consider how secure your next job will be.

I'm number 3 and right now it isn't that safe, with local government re-organisation, people who  :( were assured their job was safe, are out of a job  :(

The local government re-organisation has nothing to do with the recession though surely, it's a different cause.

Could you perhaps add your comment to the blog as well? Thanks.

True, but it sure isn't safe right now!  It might be just down to LGR but people here who have worked here many years, interviewing for their own jobs, are being told "sorry and all that, but someone from outside got it" pah!

I'm in there at number 2.  Safe is not the word.  The NHS will never shut, that is almost a certainty.  But, jobs are cut in the NHS all the time.  We have a potential axe hanging over our heads now.  Not sure how it will fall.  I am looking on the bright side, in a thusand years, who will give a f**k!  :?
