Anybody know why the area of Ferryhill around The Surtees Arms is referred to as The Crag? Nobody that I have spoken to seems to know where the name originated from.

I am going to have to go and ring my dad on that one. I am sure he told me years ago but I cannot remember.

I am sorry Chris, after building your hopes up it turns out my dad doesnt know. One saving grace could be that when he rings my uncle later this week he should find out then, he reckons he knows. That must be where I heard it from.
