400,000 in disputes as teachers walk out

THE Government was today facing the most wide-ranging series of strikes since Labour came to power a decade ago as up to 400,000 teachers, college lecturers, job centre workers, coastguards, driving examiners and other civil servants prepared to walk out in separate disputes over pay.

Don't think they get paid if they are striking do they?  I know that we don't if our Union strikes.

A Govt spokesman stated that they earn £34,000 a year - if only!  That figure refers to those lucky enough to be promoted to Head Teacher.  The vast majority do not earn enough to live on.
As a school bus driver who sees the young morons for a max of 30 mins a day, I think ALL teachers should be higher paid considering the problems they have since the Govt abolished corporal punishment
