?50K limit on political party donations
« on: Dec 14, 2006, 11:22 »
After the 'cash for peerages' scandal, which embarrassed the Labour Party earlier this year, there is a debate looming about whether Mr Blair will impose a ?50K limit on political party donations before he stands down as PM.

The Trade Unions are getting very nervous about it because a ?50K limit would also affect their HUGE financial contribution to (and political sway within) the Labour Party.

Do you think a ?50K limit should be imposed on political party donations?  What implications do you think it would have on the Trade Unions?  Would it help to clean up British politics?
