Better Under Labour my Ar--
« on: Feb 04, 2008, 04:16 »
The typical British family is more than £1,300 a year worse off, under Labour,  following sharp rises in tax, mortgage costs and energy bills over the past four years, a comprehensive report shows today.

The study, from a leading tax expert, says that millions of households are "very exposed" to the expected economic slow-down with the average family burdened with more debt than their annual income as they struggle to pay higher bills.

The cost of the average mortgage has more than doubled since 2002 with council taxes, utility bills and other household costs all soaring by more than a third. The sharp rises have wiped out recent increases in wages and led to a drop in disposable income.

The study says that the typical household now has £15,231 of disposable income to spend annually compared to £16,544 in 2003. Disposable income dropped by £1,074 between 2006 and 2007 alone.

The research was carried out by Charlie Elphicke, a leading tax lawyer, for the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS),

How very True thats why now both couples HAVE to work.
I would rather not work and stay at home and look after the children but i have to work.
It baffles me how these dole spongers can afford not to work?

Because the benefits pay more than the prospective wages. They'll lose more benefit than they'd gain by working, so they don't work. They play the system.

The number of people whose homes were repossessed last year has risen by 21% to 27,000.  Life is good under Labour!  We are taxed to the hilt and have less disposal income than ever before.  Life is good under Labour!  Listen to them long enough and you might believe them,  but judge for yourself.
