Classic cock up from Thomson
« on: Apr 23, 2013, 09:31 »
Booked a holiday for the summer with Thomsons, and go the email confirmation back ok. The booking reference gives access to a little portal where you can manage your balance and organise other things. These days, they like you to give your passport info upfront, so they give you a link to an API website. This then needs you to log in again ..... except the booking reference used for the first site doesn't work for the second one, and when you look at the FAQ it says you need to enter a 7-digit reference number. There's the problem. The reference number I have only has 6 digits.

They give you a number to ring if there are difficulties, but the pre-recorded message tells you that you can register your passport information online (err no you can't), and they can't take the info by phone!

However, you can call at a travel shop and have them do it for you for an extra £5.

It actually wants the flight reference, not the booking reference it asks for on the login page (the flight reference ISN'T on the booking confirmation email).  Mine is also still a 6 digit number (the FAQ says 7-digit), but it lets me log in now. How complicated does it have to be?
