Eisenhower was right!
« on: Sep 23, 2010, 16:56 »
It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect:
'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'

This week, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet... However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.. so, in memory of the 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests Who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets..
How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Centre ...'NEVER HAPPENED'

Yes..I did...and although I am against Chain emails...this actually struck a chord with me.

I hope that my original reason for posting this, will not be taken in the wrong light.
I want to make it perfectly clear, that I do not have a problem with Muslims per se......I was very angry about the fact that History will be lost, if we forget the holocaust!

Stalin once said that "The death of an individual is a tragedy...the death of Thousands, is a statistic!"

How right he was!
"Those who don't remember history, are damned to repeat it" comes to mind....the thought that Muslims are the new Jews of 60 yrs ago worries me enormously...this feeling of fear that we feel, can so easily be transformed into a psuedo National Socialism, where fear brings about another terrible chapter in history....we must not allow the past to be swept under the carpet, by well meaning, Liberal fools!

The sacrifice of WW2, including the Holocaust, by the German and Japanese people, as well as the Allies, SHOULD most definately continue to be taught...and feared, for it WILL happen again

If we allow it to

The email has been circulating since around 2007, where in the USA the UK reference was taken to be the University of Kentucky.

At the time in the United Kingdom, the Holocaust was still part of the national curriculum in England but was not in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland and had not been for a number of years.

There was a lot of rumpus floating around the press at the time these hoax emails started this is an extract from one reply one the BBC

A Department of Education and Skills spokesman said there was scope for schools to make their own decision on what to teach within the national curriculum

But he added: "Teaching of the Holocaust is already compulsory in schools at Key Stage 3 [age 11-14].

"It will remain so in the new Key Stage 3 curriculum from September 2008.

"As Alan Johnson made clear in January there are certain subjects which will be protected in the new curriculum and that includes the Holocaust."

As far as I am aware, there has been no change to this since then.
