How unfair is this?
« on: Sep 16, 2010, 13:01 »
BBC News - Raoul Moat shooting victim says benefit award 'unfair'

less than £20 per week for being shot in the face and Blinded.

When there are fat f*cks with 'Bad Backs' sitting on the Dole, unable to work whilst also going Jogging and pissing it up against a wall!
(with due note of genuinely injured and sick individuals)

I'd like to hear the full story.  Is he still on full police pay?
Whilst he deserve the maximum payout for what he has suffered the newspapers and TV only want sensational news so don't tell the full circumstances.

He is still receiving full police pay, the higher level of care part of DLA but only the lower rate of the mobility part.

I'll admit that I haven't a clue how the system works, maybe someone can enlighten me.  Would someone with a income of £40,000 a year qualify for a Disability Allowance?  How is the allowance calculated?  Is it purely on the degree of disability or is current income taken into account?

I feel dearly for this Officer and his horrendous injuries but he is still fully employed, although he may not be working.  He still has a good income.  The Disability amount may consider this.

I hope that he will receive a substantial lump sum for his injuries, and deservedly so.
