Tony Blair resigning
« on: May 11, 2007, 10:02 »
What do the ordinary people of Trimdon think of Tony Blair? I watched the media presentation of his leaving speech in the Labour Club and felt quite nauseous to be honest. Having your MP as PM is really bad for any constituency. They're never there to represent you, Tony has been too busy being the World's Policeman to concentrate on his own constituents and their problems. I'll be glad when he's gone. His mistakes far outweigh his successes IMHO.

From what I could see, there were very few of the people in the 'guard of honour/cheering masses' outside of the Labour Club, from Trimdon?

Had they been bussed in for the occassion?

As for the last ten years, the people were the Labour Party inner cabal at Trimdon.

I'm sure people there would welcome getting their place back from the media circus, and now he's not going to PM I look forward to him fulfilling his constituency duties by holding publicly accessibly, open surgeries to deal with constituents' problems.

It must be tough on him thinking everywhere smells of fresh paint.
