Notes
1. Bainbridge. The Romans came in AD80 and stayed 300 years. The River Bain is England?s shortest named river running from Semer Water to Bainbridge.
2. Gayle. The Old Hall near the bridge has an ornately carved doorway dated 1695. Look for Gayle Mill as featured in the BBC TV programme ?Restoration?.
3. Hawes. Important Market Town (Market Charter received in 1700), Wenslydale creamery, Rope Works, Upperdales Folk Museum.
4. Social evenings will be on the Wednesday following each walk. It will be in Twenty Twos (unless anyone has a better suggestion).
5. For those who think it?s been uncommonly quiet on the coach recently, Lenny has fully recovered and hopes to be on this walk.
6. Please start thinking about next years walk already. We?ll have the same format as this year i.e. 4 Lakes and 5 others but this is open discussed at the AGM for future years. Hand your list in on this or Octobers walk.
7. The camping weekend was a great success and we?ll have at least one on the list for next year so start thinking about venues.
