For me the only good cuury house is a closed one. The smell makes me balk.  It's so foul.

No-one said you had to come

Gee, thanks I thought it might be compulsory! I'd rather go for a 32 oz steak with fried onions and lots of lovely chips.

The toilet wouldn't stand the excessive use!

There are plenty of companies that specialise in re-enameling these days.

Spice Island in Darlington (North Road) is good. Any of the dishes are smashing but I would always recommend the coconut rice to go with whatever you order. ... Well Tasty :!:

Before I retired 6 of us from work used to go to the King's Head at Osmotherley. Sadly it's now closed. The owner, an ex RAF pilot from wartime died. His wife kept it going for a while, but it is now a house.

We used to have 28oz steaks there, but one night they said "Sorry, no 28oz steaks" Our faces dropped, then they said that they had 32 oz ones. Smiles all round.

We used to have a "duty driver" so that we could all have a good night and often, when the pub closed, we stayed for another few hours with the owner. Drinks free on the house. Self service. Men like him were few and far between.

That's when society as a whole started to deteriorate, binge eating steaks and stoppy backs.  :)  :)  :)

OK I'll take the blame squarely on my broad shoulders. It was good while it lasted, which was about 23 years.

The Capital Indian Restaurant

The garlic chicken balti with peshwari naan is highly recommended.

Make sure you go to the correct restaurant because the RAJPOOTH is just a few doors down and not half as good.
