Security has been tightened in Bahrain in preparation for protests, as Formula 1 cars take to the track for practice sessions ahead of Sunday's Grand Prix.

Security forces fired tear gas and stun grenades to disperse anti-government demonstrations overnight in mainly Shia villages around the capital, Manama.

Activists have promised "three days of rage" at the decision to hold the Grand Prix and the crackdown on dissent.

I think we should butt out of other Countries problems.... people/societies sort themselves out eventually.. the West seems to think it has 'All the answers'
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead...Do not walk in front of me, for I may not Follow...Do not walk beside me...just f*ck off and leave me alone!

Well it wasn't really missed last year

Its a pretty boring track ...   as most are becoming now  ( maybe I am getting old 32 yrs watching this stuff )

Bernie has his pockets to fill
Teams have sponsors to please

Sky have there subscribers to entertain

Teams are getting boring now,  its a waiting game then they follow like sheep   ref  Qualifying

Either use a qually tyre for grid position
Or agree to use one compound only and start on this set on fastest time
any team not setting a 107% time  gets a penalty  in each session

F1 should not be affected by politics of war
Don't think current news gives F1 the credit it deserves

Don't think F1 will survive with this bad press,  and ££ pay to view
Its going to get the back burner like show jumping did
Mind you they still show the Grand National

1600cc F1 cars  may just  loose my interest altogether
Might as well watch 1 litre micra's and C1 and smart cars ride around instead

1000cc touring cars ??

Four races in, four different winners, including Lotus placed 2nd and 3rd in this one, with Force India 5th.

Hardly boring surely?.

to me there are some sports whcih are very boring and grand prix is one of them - 100 laps and nothing much changes..? basketball - where a score will perhaps be 100-110...golf, cricket etc...

highlights maybe, but spend hours..?

Think its tyre choice that wins the game now

Whom can use mechanical grip to obtain the best reliabilty and tyre temp to suit the track

To hard on temp to overheat the black circles and your heading for the cliff  (F1 term)

how long you can stay within the window of lap time before you come in for a replacement

if you qualified in Q3  your going to have less sets of new than a driver whom never got to Q2

Sadly that DRS zone makes a my blood boil
what happened to competative attack racing
no lets press a button to operate this flap  and press another one for a 70hp power boost

BRING BACK TURBOS  V12   lets have unreliabilty and engine blow ups

F1 was so called, was it not because it was the top formula the cutting edge of technology. So let the teams build the best cars they can using the biggest fastest engines they can.
2.0 Turbo engines with no electronics to help lay the power on the track will bring back excitement but also it might bring back the fatalities we have seen so little of  lately. So not sure which way it will go

There's no way they'll compromise on safety. The drivers simply won't drive these days if they think the racing is dangerous to them.
