Apparently they're waiting for approval for their proposed internal alterations from the council. I think it's scheduled for 24th April.

There's a note stuck to the grill on the window with the Application for Internal Alterations. The 24th April date is from there.

Had a read of the notice, it has nothing to do with planning consent.
It is the notice of application of a drinks license and says the consideration of this drinks license will take place on 24th April.

Ah, right. I stand corrected.

Well I hope the workforce doing the alterations do a better job than they do driving ....... just watched one of their white van drivers take his exhaust off when entering the car park this morning.

He tried to drive over a heap of grass/soil/rubble just past the back door of the Bull and it was too high for the van, then he tried to reverse and ripped part of his exhaust off then tried to drive forward again with the exhaust trailling underneath him.

When he got out you could hear him saying "What was that?" ....... well if he looked underneath his van he would have seen the exhaust hanging down  ......... he must have thought his transit had the same ground clearence as a 4X4.

Heard a rumour that it might not be called The Black Bull when it re-opens. The name mentioned was "The Dean and Chapter"

Called in on the way home tonight. Tons of tellys, plenty of people in and a good feeling. Seems like they've done a good job.  8)

They've just announced that in association with the Ferryhill Bakery, they're going to start doing Sunday Roasts.
