No white christmas in 2012, BUT ....
« on: Dec 15, 2012, 10:57 »
Looking at the weather models for the coming week, it looks like the temperatures might be up to, or in excess of 12 degC by next weekend, so the chances of a white christmas seem to be slim at the moment. Better for moving around, but not good for the christmas romantics. Keep watching this thread for further updates.

I'm one of the romantics. I love snow on Xmas day but also worry about people trying to travel on dangerous roads so I'm ok with it not snowing.  :cold:

Latest update - after the peak in temperatures this weekend (they might reach double figures on Sat/Sun), there'll be a rapid cool down towards Boxing Day, with the possibility of snow showers on Northern hills and in Scotland on 26th/27th, then a return to windy, wild, unsettled weather from the North West, but it won't be warm and it'll only take a slight change of path and it could mean a pasting of snow instead of rain for the northern half of Britain between Christmas and New Year.

Not too bad on the road this morning. Fog more of a problem really than the overnight snow. We're promised more later today though.
