Not surprised. His comments after the match made me wonder what I'd been watching. They played like a team without leadership.

Just read one of PDCs columns on the BBC site, gave me more of an insight of the man BBC Sport - Paolo Di Canio on hand of Suarez, paying for players and tiramisu

Convenient  excuse for milliband to 'upsticks',

It's a risk, but probably no more of a risk than sticking with the decline we were in. I like Paolo's no nonsense style. Milliband seems to think our club should be politicised to his liking. Di Canio is accredited with saying all kinds of things, but I think it's typical of the press that they've misquoted what he has said in the past and also quoted him out of context. I've just watched his interview and he says he's not a political person and doesn't want to talk about politics, just football. That's fair enough as far as i'm concerned. He'll bring passion and fresh ideas to Sunderland, and that's what we need. All he needs to do this season is keep SAFC in the Premier League to be a hero.

Martin O'Neill is a nice guy who's had every chance. He was starting to make excuses and had run out of ideas. I don't think anyone bears him any malice. Replacing him now at least gives us a chance at staying up. That's football.
