Driving past the course every day, the grass is now starting to take over again as it's not being mowed anymore. Mount Oswald in Durham is the same. It's a shame to see areas that have been lovingly cared for and enjoyed for so long go back to 'wild'. It'll be great for wildlife of course, but if these things are eventually going to be built on then more habitats will eventually be lost.

Played both courses a few times, it is a shame they have gone.

Not sure if work has started yet on the Mount Oswald site yet but f not it must be very near to it.

I noticed a letter or article in the Northern Echo complaining about how the Council and University together are spoiling what was a nice, historic city.

Woodham has been bought and is going to re-open in early August I think.

Woodham Golf Club is set to re-open next week after an extensive two-month refurbishment programme.

The course will open on Friday 1st August after it was initially closed down last November when its previous owners, Washington Developments, went into administration.

The new owners, local businessmen Neville and Stephen Hall, now welcome all golfers.
