Handy Genealogy Research Sites
« on: Oct 29, 2008, 17:18 »
Listed below are some of the websites that I have used over the past few years.  Just about all are free to join you only have to list a few details to register.
Then take time out explore the sites, and when your ready post some basic information on your family tree.  Whatever you do never post information about living relatives.

Most sites have a part for you to introduce yourself, dont be shy ask for help when needed....and you will find those who have been researching for years will have lots of advice and guidance. Good Luck......and just remember never give up, even when the going gets tough....cheers Poppies

RootsChat.Com - Index Genealogy

Find Family Tree Researchers and Information for your Surnames | Family Tree

BBC History - Family History

I will add a few more soon..... :)

I just took a quick look at the RootsChat.Com - Index Genealogy forum and looks pretty good, through them I found an interesting site to find info on WW1 Prisoners of the First World War | International Committee of the Red Cross - Worth checking it out.
