County Durham News and Discussions / Re: Local Elections - May 4th 2017

Anyone living in Middlesbrough will see for themselves what a mess Labour have made of our town, as they have had complete control for more than 60 years, is it any wonder that it is always named as one of hte worst to live in, in the U.K.  They are as bad as ISIS having knocked down most of our historic, nice, buildings. Building which should have been preserved.  There should be no party politics in local elections, those elected should be there for the people of the town and not there to follow the party line.

I think that the choice has to be "Who do you think will make the best job of Brexit?"  "Who is the most capable negotiator?"

The big worry is, once he reckons he's going down, he'll probably nuke North Korea as a parting shot.

And again in Manchester. There are said to be 3,500 jihadis at large in the U.K., all a threat to this country. Can we not just make them disappear like they do with undesirables in other countries?

I think I know which way I'll vote, but it'll be the party I dislike the least, rather than the one I like the most.

« Last Post by Legend on May 28, 2017, 17:47  »
Got some nice thundery showers yesterday. Heavy bursts lasted about 20 mins after another warm morning. Temp in Durham up to 26 degC on 26th May and about 23 degC yesterday before the rain arrived. Just made it back from the chippy in time!

So, six days and no replies!  Does this mean that the people on this site don't give a toss what happens in the coming election?  Do you want to go forward to a bright future out of the E.U or don't you care?

At almost 80 yrs of age it won't affect me a a lot but I have hopes for those who will be here in the coming years.  We can go forward with the Tories or backwards with Labour, the choice is yours, yet no-one seems to care on this site.

WAKE UP - give your opinions, whatever your thoughts. The area has suffered whoever was in power, as Labour needed to do nothing for us as the Lemmings would vote for them regardless, and the Tories did little, as the Lemmings would still vote Labour regardless, so why bother?
