A good buy?
« on: Aug 31, 2010, 19:39 »
Sunderland have landed Ghana World Cup star Asamoah Gyan on a four-year deal for a club-record fee.

Steve Bruce has splashed out at least £13 million to buy the striker from French outfit Rennes.

A club statement confirmed the deal was done 20 minutes before the 6pm deadline to sign the player, who scored three goals in South Africa this summer.

Would have paid that for Rooney. This guy scored more goals in the world cup them him. Makes it sound a bit better. But your right it's a lot of money

Too expensive!

Ellis Short obviously doesn't think so, and it's his money ;-)

The days of making do are over at SAFC. The ambition is there for all to see.

We sold Jones and Waghorn for a combined figure of £11m. Good business. A highly rated World Cup striker for a lazy player, plus a reserve, for a nett outlay of £2m. How is that too expensive?

Darren Bent? If he's better than him we'll have 50 goals between them this season. I'll happily "make do" with that. Or did you mean someone else?

Maybe, Emile Heskey hasn't scored more goals for his country than Jose Luis Chilavert has for his. :)
