Coventry v the Lads

How could we lose this one, eh ? A great goal from Stern, sure, but their second goal was an absolute defending nightmare. Did we not learn anything from last season's cock-ups galore ?! Sometimes I do wonder if the club deserves the support it gets, serving up ****e like today's second half. Yes, it's early in the season I know and the Brum game on Weds will be different, of course, but apart from prob just two of the Lads today's performances were too weak for words allround if you ask me. We need a more experienced 'keeper able to shout some home truths to our crap defenders and we need at least one proven striker as well. Elliott was a shadow of his former self today and when Kyle came on, well, maybe we're better off if he found a new club. The long balls were an eye sore throughout the second half without putting Kyle on as well.

Two-one Coventry. There's work to be done. And players to buy !

Hi alex,

I think this just proves that, until we get the players in that Quinn wants, we can't really judge. We knew that last year the defending was crap. In this game he played Cunningham, but Collins was forced to play on the left (he shouldn't have been on the field) and Lawrence was also filling in there because of injuries to the left hand side players. Up front, Murphy looked ok, but we didn't play to Elliot's strengths. I think Robbie Elliot will play on Wednesday and we'll see Lawrence switch sides.

I think it'll be a while before we iron out all the stupid things we do and stop losing games we really should win.

It doesn't help that SAFC are about six weeks behind the rest of the teams, what with the takeover and all.
