Marvellous pictures! I won't be there but have been many times in the past. Brought back a lot of memories.

When I was a kid, travellers used to put their gallawa's in a paddock at Witton Park in the summertime. In the evenings as the sun set, the ponies would all start to run around the perimeter of the field and we'd jump on their backs as they came past the wall and ride them. Dangerous and stupid, but thrilling.

That made me think the travellers were being dragged through the dust by the ankles, but I'm sure that's not what you meant bazza.   :D What were they pulling? The traditional painted caravan, or are they all confined to television period dramas?
