First Storm of the Season
« on: Sep 03, 2006, 21:43 »
I heard on the radio tonight that we'll be getting some very windy weather here tomorrow with gale storm and rain and everything. I didn't hear which direction it's supposed to come from, are you guys having a storm today by any chance ?

We had a day of very heavy rain on Saturday, with quite strong winds, I suppose it might have got to you a day later. It made the dash for the beer festival very wet indeed.

Ok, well, it's raining here now and the wind has caught on a bit, too, bit it's not yet anywhere near gale storm. I sometimes wonder if they exagerate on purpose on the telly's weather spots. But then again, it's only just gone 11am here so plenty of time still for the wind to break.

They exaggerate there to? We have had our weather forecasts dumbed down so far that they are meaningless. Pretty graphics at the expense of good information i'm afraid. I tend to just rely on Internet info now to make my own informed opinion.

The charts here should let you see if there's anything nasty coming your way :

Not really, no, it's gone quite windy and very wet but I wouldn't call it a gale storm at all, just Autumn, really...
