After a weekend of unusually high temperatures, up to 13c, high winds and torrential rain a lot of the snow has now melted. the combined coditions also led to a 7 hour power outage on Sunday. The rain sodden ground and wind also proved to much for a lilac in my back garden. I managed to right it and put stakes in to hopefully hold it in place. Now just waiting to see what February has to offer.

I thought the weather today was right for snow ......  the still air and the cold    just had a feel about it

Looks to be mild all week....

Typical......  off work with the bairn  and cant make a snow man !!

Don't know where you are CLAN, but it's certainly not mild here!

Alex has some very cold air coming his way in the next 72 hours, and it looks like reaching us by the weekend too.

Too cold to be outside, -14C, so these were taken from my window.

Beautiful pristine snow!

We had a few light flurries here in Rothbury, Northumberland overnight- but nothing lying.

Apparently, so far this winter we have had a total of just over 10 feet.

We've been in the middle of a howling blizzard since yesterday morning. Temperatures around minus 10C. Roads out of town are closed, schools closed, only essential workers at the power plant are to report to work and then only on buses using an emergency route. On top of that we had a power outage last night. Enough of winter, roll on Jamaica next month.

Now it's not funny anymore. Woke up this morning to snow with just over an inch on the ground.

Poor you- I can see how it's getting to you.   I'll keep my fingers crossed for an improvement soon!
