That was Winter that was

After nearly an inch of snow in places, it was pathetic to see the 'new public' react to it in the way they did. Kids off school? Can't get to work? Stuck in a drift?

They must read the Daily Express Lancelot. They predict Snowmaggedon every other day. They've been wrong so often that they must surely be regarded as 'The boy who cried Wolf'. If there ever was a mental snowstorm coming, no-one would believe them

A chilly spell coming up, with a cold east wind and the prospect of a few snow flurries. Are you in Australia at the mo Lancelot?

No, in Middlesbrough, the house in West Australia was sold in December 2013, so no more visits at ages of 80 this year and 82 we've done enough trips there and back over 23 years. Just lots of memories and rellies and friends still out there.

That's a shame, I know how you enjoyed it there. Do you have any plans to maybe winter away in Spain or somewhere closer to home in future?

We saw more of West Australia in our 23 years going there than than most of our neighbours in W.A.  Must admit that at times when we'd been there for 3 months I used to wake up, look out of the window, and hope to see a cloud for a change.  I doubt that at our ages 80 & 82 we will go abroad even locally to Spain or anywhere else in the world, we have the money but not the interest.  We like to eat out, at lunchtime, about 4 times a week within about 30 miles of Middlesbrough.  Just ordered a new car for 1st March, current one is over 2.5 years old.
